In 2023, I read 173 books written by women across a range of genres and audiences and age groups, and many of these were review books or books that I reviewed throughout the year. I made the effort to be as diverse as possible – whether this was the story, the author, or the characters… Continue reading The Books I read that were Written by Women

Books by Men Read in 2023
Books by Men Read in 2023 One of the ways I like to explore my reading is seeing what ratio of male authors to female authors I have read. The past few years I have read more women authors than men, a goal that started when I participated in the Australian Women Writer’s challenge… Continue reading Books by Men Read in 2023
Books that were co-written
Another category I had a separate list for 2023 was books that were co-written – usually books written by two authors, but I have included one anthology as it had two editors, and I feel that it counts towards this, and Murder You Wrote, as each chapter had a different author. I also included these… Continue reading Books that were co-written
Anthologies or multi-authored books.
Every now and then, I will read an anthology, which usually has an editor I can put down in my reading log, and sometimes, they might be edited by an organisation like the Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds anthology was. I didn’t read that many anthologies this year, but the ones I did were… Continue reading Anthologies or multi-authored books.
Books by Non-Australian Women 2023

Books Read by Non-Australian Men
There were a few categories that didn’t quite have as many books read as others, and one of these was Non-Australian Men. Often this came down to what I received for review or what appealed to me, as sometimes there were things that didn’t stand out over other things. Other reasons included time – I… Continue reading Books Read by Non-Australian Men
Non-Australian Reading Wrap Up 2023
During 2023, I tried to tally up different categories of reading where there were multiple authors – for some, there were a few and for others, just a handful. One way I split up my reading was splitting it into Australian and Non-Australian authors – as I have always tried to read more Australian authors,… Continue reading Non-Australian Reading Wrap Up 2023
December 2023 Reading Round Up
This month’s reading round up is coming to you early – I usually do this in the first week of the following month, but have chosen to do it earlier this month. In December I read 13 books, as some took me a little longer than others and I was trying to get through a… Continue reading December 2023 Reading Round Up
The Books that Left an Impression on Me in 2023
The Books that Left an Impression on Me in 2023 So it is that time of year when people make their top ten books of the year lists, or their best reads of the year and rank them. This is something I have never been able to do because I can’t always choose a top… Continue reading The Books that Left an Impression on Me in 2023
