My main goal was to read as many books by Australian women as possible, and in 2023 my focus was also on promoting children’s literature, as this is one area of literature that does not get as much attention in mainstream media – that is something that lots of people want to see a change in this. For now, there are many of us working on blogs and social media to promote children’s books in Australia, alongside organisations like the Children’s Book Council of Australia and the National Centre for Australian Children’s Literature, both organisations I am part of and whom I work with.
I hope to continue this promotion into 2024 as mny more fabulous Australian children’s books come out.
