In October, I read eighteen books, and reviewed sixteen of them. Most were by Australian authors, and all were aimed at children or young adults. I had hoped to read more but travel and a few other things meant I didn’t get through everything I wanted. I also worked on some posts about my visit to the National Centre for Australian Children’s Literature in Canberra, The Rarity of Reviews of Children’s Books in mainstream media, and a post about how children’s literature is often viewed. I am hoping that there is a way to work on promoting children’s literature in mainstream media and beyond the popular or ‘celebrity authored’ books, as there are so many amazing children’s books out there that are deserving of much more attention than they seem to get.
Onto November and hopefully getting on top of that reading pile!
