A few years ago, I embarked on reading Jacqueline Harvey’s Alice-Miranda series. I read books one, nineteen, twenty and twenty-one, the last three when they came out. Since then, I have gone back to read books two to eighteen in order. I have enjoyed going back and reading the ones I hadn’t read before, because even though you can read these in any order, reading them in order is so much fun.
It makes boarding school sound like a lot of fun like the Enid Blyton boarding school books I used to read, and I loved everyone Alice-Miranda interacted with. It’s such a delightful series, because I feel that whatever age you are when you read these books, there are things to learn, characters to relate to, and aspects of the characters that we can all see in ourselves. And Alice-Miranda is such a lovely character, she’d be such fun to be friends with.
