Books by Australian Men 2024

Light background with two rows of colourful books at the top and bottom. There is black text across a dark brown shape that says books written by Australian men.

Another category I split my reading into was gender, to see how it broke down into men and women, as my focus has often been on promoting Australian women writers over the past few years, to try and bolster the voices of those who are not as popular or given as much attention as popular male authors. I also focus on children’s books by men and women, because I feel that this is a readership that is overlooked. You’ll notice that many of the books by men here are children’s books – and this is because I believe that children’s books are more powerful than adult books – they’re what turns kids into readers and start us on our reading journey, and deserve more attention than they get.
