September 2024 Reading Round Up

A beige square with 14 colourful book covers in a range of genres and audience groups. It has black text in the middle that says September 2024 Reading Round Up.

During September, I read 15 books for my reviewing on my blog, Sisters in Crime, and ArtsHub. All these books were Australian, and all but one were by Australian women. Some were longer than others, and they all came from a wide range of genres. Some books were a bit longer, and as a result, I had to dedicate a bit more time to them, so didn’t get everything I wanted to read finished this month. I am hoping to get on top of as many of these in October.

  1. Madame Brussels: The Life and Times of Melbourne’s Most Notorious Woman by Barbara Minchinton
  2. Maisy and Daisy Move House by Michelle De Robillard and Amanda Letcher
  3. The Burrow by Melanie Cheng
  4. High Wire by Candice Fox
  5. Landovel: The Poison Taster by Emily Rodda
  6. Blood and Stone: A Radazan Mystery by Tamara M Bailey
  7. Landovel: The Secret Keeper by Emily Rodda
  8. Skysong by C.A. Wright
  9. My Family and Other Suspects by Kate Emery
  10. Flora: Australia’s Most Curious Plants by Tania McCartney
  11. When We Flew Away: A Novel of Anne Frank Before the Diary by Alice Hoffman
  12. Landovel: The Truth Teller by Emily Rodda
  13. Sally’s Lament by Mari Mancusi
  14. A Beginner’s Guide to Choosing the Perfect Pet by Ali Rutstein
  15. Into the Ice: Reflections on Antarctica to Alison Lester and Coral Tullock

During October, I also completed the Book Fair Australia Reading Challenge – I had to fill in the 2023 exhibitor, and was lucky enough that one of this month’s books was by an author I could use. I had a book I planned to use here if this hadn’t happened, but I enjoyed being able to use High Wire by Candice Fox to fill in this prompt.
