Australian Men Read

Light background with two rows of colourful books at the top and bottom. There is black text across a dark brown shape that says books written by Australian men.

Every year, I split up my roundups into categories. Because I read so much, it makes sense and goes alongside the longer, complete one. This is the only reason the authors who are men get their own post, because I know lengthy posts are not something that everyone enjoys. That said, I focus on authors who are men that do not get the kudos and attention that some of them get. I look at the kids authors, the ones that might fly under the radar at times. The ones who are known within the area they write in, but who might be overlooked in other areas. I also try to feature LGBTQIA men, or Indigenous men who also might not get attention that the super popular ones get.

So this year, I read 36 authors who are men, and this number is always smaller than my count for women authors. I write roundups that are broad and focused, and split them into men, women, Australian, non-Australian, children’s, young adult, adult, LGBTQIA, Disabled and co-authored books. There is also a post with everything and a summary at the end. So if people want to look at something in particular, they can.
