Disney has been a part of our lives as children and adults for one hundred years and several generations. Many of us have been raised on the classics from Mickey Mouse and his friends, to Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, and into the Disney Renaissance with Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and the Lion King, and into modern stories lie Tangled, Brave, and Frozen. In this book, the characters we know, and love appear in shorter versions of their main stories, or short adventures that sit within their main stories that weren’t explored in the films. Beloved characters feature: Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Simba, Pongo and Perdita, Dumbo, and several others, ready to capture imaginations.
It comes in a turquoise slipcase with silver foil of all the characters featured, and then they’re all featured on both covers in bright colour as well. These stories capture the beauty of the movies we all know so well. For kids who are yet to be introduced to the movies, this is a great starting point to introduce kids to the world of Disney and to get them excited about meeting the characters within the pages and the movies. It is yet another great Disney book aimed at all ages, as I think it is one that can be enjoyed by all. I also like that it allows our imaginations to thrive and be invited into a magical world from an early age, and from here, it goes into the movies, the television shows, and the other books aimed at all ages, so there is something for everyone to enjoy within the world of Disney.
This is just one of many books that will be coming out this year to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Disney, and there will be a princess book like this coming out as well. It is reminiscent of the picture books that used to come out to accompany each movie in the past, but instead of it being the story of an entire movie, it is a fun selection that can be read in any order and flipped back and forth between depending on what the reader would like to explore. It is a fun book and one I hope readers enjoy.
