Dymocks Reading Challenge 2024 April to July: Mains

A pale peace background with a sketched arm and hand holding a tray with two green rectangles that say Dymocks Reading Challenge Book Tasting Menu on the tray with a list of prompts and pictures of food and drink. Text at the very top says Dark brown text next to the tray image says Dymocks Reading Challenge: Book Tasting Menu. The bottom panels says Main.

We’re a quarter of the way through the year, which means a new set of prompts for the Dymocks Reading Challenge tasting menu! This time, it is mains with ten prompts to check out. Again, these are general prompts with creative titles to give readers space to find the book that works for them – no need to read specific titles just to tick something off! Always tough when that is the case, especially if the book is not easy to find. I’m looking forward to these prompts and seeing what I can use to fit into each one.

Prompts:

Top Shelf (Choose a Book from Our 2024 Top 101 list as voted by our Booklovers):

Long lunch (Settle in with a story with more than 500 pages):

Shelf Aware (A book set in, around or featuring the greatest of locations – a bookstore):

Key Ingredient (Devour something with food or ingredients in the title):

A First Nations Story (Discover the incredible voices of our First Nations storytellers):

Comfort Meal (Reread a past favourite that fills you with a warmth of nostalgia):

Yes Chef! (A story recommended by your friend with the best literary taste):

Celebrating Pride (Celebrate the fabulous diversity of LGBTQIA+ stories):

Palate Cleanser (Reset your reading rituals with something from a category you don’t normally read):
