Books by LGBTQIA and Non-Binary Authors 2023

Another goal I had in 2023 was to read more LGBTQIA or non-binary authors, and this post features the ones that I knew about that made the list, though I do acknowledge that I may have read others and not realised it, and that based on the author biography I had, they ended up in different posts. When I came to read these authors, I wasn’t sure where I wanted to start at first, so I chose books based on what I liked to read in terms of genre or a story that looked interesting – and I did love reading Will Kostaskis’s new book, We Could Be Something. Part of me wanted to see if I could find ones that weren’t stereotypical or only romance – as with other books I read, I like to see characters in a variety of situations and stories, as every story has something unique for all readers, and these four books had that within them.

I am hoping to read more in this category in 2024, but as always, it will come down to what comes my way with all my reading, especially when I am sent review books, as they can often be a surprise.

Non-Binary/LGBTQIA

  1. Euphoria Kids by Alison Evans
  2. We Could Be Something by Will Kotsakis
  3. The House of Longing by Tara Calaby
  4. We Didn’t Think It Through by Gary Lonesborough
