During 2023, I tried to tally up different categories of reading where there were multiple authors – for some, there were a few and for others, just a handful. One way I split up my reading was splitting it into Australian and Non-Australian authors – as I have always tried to read more Australian authors, and preferably those who don’t get all the attention that some do. This resulted in me reading thirty-five books by authors who weren’t Australian, in a range of genres and styles. Most were for review and a couple were anthologies, but overall, I think I covered some good ground in this area as well. It showed me that there are lots of stories out there, and that there is something out there for everyone even if some things weren’t my cup of tea.

My non-Australian reading was pretty specific this year, and a lot of short stories, so I haven’t read any of these books. You’ve read well and widely!
