QBD Reading Challenge 2025

A sepia-toned background with panels of black text for the QBD Reading Challenge 2025. It looks like an old newspaper.

One final challenge I will be taking on this year is the QBD Reading Challenge, which has is called ‘Uncover the Mystery’ this year. The prompts are common crime or mystery tropes or elements, and each book you choose should hopefully reveal the mystery of your reading over the year – which is twelve prompts, making it one a month. There will be some prompts that will be easier to fill, as with my other challenges. These prompts will be the first to be filled, and I’ll do my best to fill the others as I go through the year. Checking off the ones I can with what I have is the approach I take, and then I can play around with the leftover prompts.

So, onto see what I can fit into this year’s challenge!

  1. A Novel Case (Read a book outside your usual genre):
  2. Keep Your Friends Close (A book written by an Australian author):
  3. And Your Enemies Closer (A book featuring a problematic main character):
  4. A New Lead (A trending book):
  5. Most Wanted (QBD Top 100):
  6. Today we Slay (An LGBTQIA Book):
  7. A Red Herring (A book that features an animal)
  8. Stranger than Fiction (A non-fiction book):
  9. Fresh Evidence (a 2025 debut novel):
  10. You’ve cracked the code (A book translated from another language):
