~*~

Meet Floof – a cat that is very floofy and is off to have a floofy day of reading, sleeping, playing, and going in the garden, amongst many other things. Floof is fun and cheeky and loves to explore the world. Come with Floof and have fun from the time Floof gets up to the time Floof goes to bed!

As a cat lover, as soon as I got this, I knew it would be a fun book to read and sat down to read it immediately. It is an adorable story – written and illustrated by Heidi McKinnon and uses simple language and activities to go through everything Floof does throughout the day. It is a fun book to read at any time – it is filled with fun and whimsy, as a delightful cat shows young children what fun is to be had throughout their day from the time they wake up until they are ready to go to bed. It would be a great bedtime read, as it would go through the day and then hopefully help children settle down and go to sleep as Floof winds down to go to sleep as well.

Heidi’s story and illustrations are simple yet effective. Floof truly comes to life on the page as a fluffy, grey ball, much like the cats I had growing up. So Floof reminded me a bit of Smudge and Clyde. Floof is a really fun character – just meant to be a fun-loving cat enjoying their day, and finding fun things to do that kids will also do, which makes it relatable as well.

It is a fun book that will help build a child’s vocabulary and understanding of language whilst reading a fun and engaging story about a cat going about their day. I think readers of all ages will enjoy this book, and it will make a delightful addition to any book collection.
