This year, one of the challenges I had a go at was the Aussie Author Reading Challenge. I started with Kangaroo level, and completed that by mid-March, so read onwards, even overtaking Emu. Not all the Australian books I read were used for this challenge, I used about 111 of my total. 84 were women, and 27 were men. Fifty of the authors were new to me. Next year, I am planning on Kangaroo level again and will extend if I need to. My main reason for that is as I primarily focus on Australian Women Writers, this gives me less stress trying to find male authors – as I am hoping to read things I enjoy for the most part, and will probably find many of these authors fall across my path by chance, rather than having to seek them out. It’s a strategy that has worked well in the past, and allows me to focus on the reading and align the challenge and the book in a casual, stress free way, rather than spending too long looking for a specific book to fit a specific challenge.

I never end up doing these where you have to link back to the different sites because I always struggle to find the links lol. Well done!

Thank you! It’s fairly easy cause we’re just linking to one site. It’s remembering to enter the links that gets tricky.

Hmmm, I’ll see how I go, I think I’ll probably just stick to the two challenges this coming year.

Yeah that’s my plan too. I’ve only got two set up for 2022 including this one.
