Australian Women Writer’s Challenge

Goal: 50

As always, every year I take part in the Australian Women Writer’s Challenge. In 2021, I am going to aim to read 50 books, however, I may exceed that. Why am I being so conservative this year? Because I don’t want to overwhelm myself. I have a few books already that have come for review, and left over from purchases in 2020, and I am sure there will be more to come in between review books, purchases, and books for work when I get back into quiz writing with Scholastic Australia.

Some of these books are adult, some young adult, and some kids – and they will span a wide range of genres. This year I am also focusing on Australian challenges and aiming to fill any challenges with at mostly Australian authors and books. There might be one or two categories that require international books.

In previous years, I have had a list of some books I would like to tackle in the AWW challenge in mind. For 2021 I don’t, and perhaps that is due to the awful year we’ve all had, but also, I am at this stage without a clear plan other than read Australian women writers. So that’s what I am going to do and will attempt to do regular updates.

2021 will mostly be about new books, or books I have not read, maybe with a reread. With an uncertain year ahead again, there might be lots of time for reading, and I look forward to reading more Australian Women Writers.
